This list of interior designers is a growing list that will
expand over time to include designers from many different
countries and design periods. The list is categorized alphabetically.
Carlos de Beistegui 1895 - 1970
Don Carlos de Beistegui y de Yturbe was a flamboyant French
interior designer and art collector also called Charlie
de Beistegui. Cecil Beaton called the eccentric designer
the "most self-engrossed and pleasure-seeking person
I have met"
Sibyl Colefax 1874 - 1950
Well known English interior designer born in Wimbledon,
London. The notable socialite pursued her interior decorating
consulting after the Wall Street crash of 1929 decimated
her wealth.
Robert Denning 1927 - 2005
Famous American interior designer known for his extravigant
designs and over the top furnishings. Inspired by French
Victorian designs, Denning created works of opulence and
excess for monied clients. His design company Denning &
Fourcade, Inc. was a partnership with him and Vincent Fourcade.
Zaha Hadid born 1950
Famous Iraqi born British architect Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid
has designed a number of futuristic buildings throughout
the world. She was the first woman architect to win the
presitious Pritzker Architecture Prize. She has also designed
a number of interiors.
David Nightingale Hicks 1929 - 1998
Famous British interior designer and decorator known for
his bold colors and combining old and new together. Hicks
a celebrity client list that included the Prince of Wales,
Helena Rubinstein, hairdresser Vidal Sassoon and The Duchess
of Rutland.
Syrie Maugham 1879 - 1955
British female interior design born in England and famous
for her pioneering interior decoration. Maugham worked with
a variety of well known clients throughout the United States
of America.
Lorenzo Mongiardino 1916 - 1998
Famous Italian interior designer and architect born in Genoa,
Italy. The European designer is famous for works like the
Carlyle hotel in New York, Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, Rome Plaza
and many more. He was also a well known production designer
for the film industry.
Candice Olsen born 1964
Famous Canadian interior designer and host of the home makeover
show called Divine Design where Olsen and a crew of tradesmen
redo old rooms to suit the needs of the owners. The Toronto
based home make-over show is aired on W Network. Olson also
does the Candice Tells All televison program.
Sister Parish 1910 - 1994
American interior designer and socialite. Born Dorothy May
Kinnicutt, she was famous for being the first interior designer
and decorator to work on the Kennedy White House rooms.
The Family Dining Room and Yellow Oval Room were designed
by her.
Nina Petronzio born 1979
American female interior designer and founder of the Plush
Home brand of furniture. Her interior design firm Melrose
Avenue has served a number of Hollywood celebrities and
actors like Leonardo DiCaprio and Neve Campbell.
Sarah Richardson
Notable Canadian interior decorator and television presentor
of programs like Room Service, Sarah's House, Design Inc.,
and Sarah's Cottage. Richardson has also worked as a prop
stylist and set decorator.

Kelly Wearstler born 1967
Famous American interior designer and decorator that has
featured on the Top Design program in the USA. She was also
Playmate of the Year at Playboy magazine in 1994 under the
pseudonym Kelly Gallagher. Her style of interior design
has been described as Maximalism.
Elsie de Wolfe 1865 - 1920
The American actress and early interior designer was also
called Lady Mendl. Elsie de Wolfe is sometimes credited
with making interior design or interior decorating a serious
profession.
